Join our fundraising efforts for one of the most devastating earthquakes in history.

Purchases made now through June 1st will go directly to this fund!

The Story

A 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Nepal with devastating force on Friday, April 24th killing over 4,000 people with a death toll that continues rising by the minute as more bodies are uncovered underneath the rubble. For the past 96 hours people have been sleeping outside as aftershocks continue to wreak havoc on one of the world’s poorest and least developed nations. Food, water, medicine, clothing are scarce and panic is rampant amongst the displaced population.

If there was ever a cause that needed the help from us yogis, this is it. The historical Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal. Buddha’s teachings have been carried on through centuries and spread widely, relieving people from suffering throughout the ages and making great contributions to the development of Eastern culture and yoga. These precious practices and philosophies today bring us immeasurable benefit in the west. It’s thanks to this remarkable culture that we have teachings that bring so much joy and meaning to our lives. And this is our chance to give back!

The funds raised here will represent the Chicagoland Yogi community’s solidarity with Nepal during this time of great need. Vibe-Up (http://www.vibeup.today/) and Kathmandu Yogi (https://kathmanduyogi.com/) have combined forces to create this campaign, which will culminate with a one-of-a-kind yogi benefit featuring vinyasa and meditation followed by a celebration of Nepalese food and culture. To be notified once details of the event become available enter your email on www.vibeup.today.

Funds collected here will go to the Chicagoland Nepali Friendship Society, an established 501 (c)3, our trusted local connection to Nepal.
